Happy 4:20

4/20 is widely known as a smokers holiday, or code for marijuana, but where did this come from. Most smokers use the term, and celebrate the holiday with out any particular knowledge of its history. Well the term was invented in 1971 by a group of high school kids at San Rafael High School in California. The kids used it as code for the set time of day they would meet to light up. The term spread and was eventually assimilated itself into today popular culture. So now the next time your asked a question about the origins of 4:20 you can have an intelligent answer.
